Description
With the 1.6 (gpf) toilets on today's market, every bathroom needs a toilet plunger. These high-efficiency low-volume toilets need plunging more frequently because they don't hold enough water in their tanks for an efficient flush.
Many products on the market sit on the bathroom floor and cover up the toilet plunger. However, Hy-Dit provides an attractive way to conceal a toilet plunger. This shallow "built between-the-studs" wall cabinet fits inside a typical 2x4 wall to hold a plunger, toilet-cleaning brush, and bottle of bowl cleaner on a small shelf. Designed to be installed in a bathroom wall within easy reach of the toilet, the basic unit can be painted to match bathroom walls. Optional wood doors (unfinished alder, cherry, hickory, maple, oak, pine and paint-grade MDF) can be added to match the room's décor.
Hy-Dit's door can accommodate either a right- or left-hand swing. A depression in the bottom retains moisture until it evaporates, but Hy-Dit is also equipped with interior ventilation to help speed the drying process. Its factory-applied finish is both water-resistant and durable.
Craig Helber, inventor of Hy-Dit, describes the toilet plunger as one of the most distasteful things we own. "We should not be forced to exhibit this apparatus in an area that we want to keep as sterile as possible. Now, I know from my own experiences that the plunger needs to be close by, but I am unable to accept a filthy plunger sitting on my bathroom floor. There has to be a better way!"
Installing Hy-Dit is easy and affordable. The dimensions of the metal cabinet are 4" D x 12" W x 26" H, and the unit comes with a template for wall layout. The biggest challenge is to locate the studs. Once the rough opening (9 1/4" W by 25 1/4" H) has been cut into the wallboard, the overall installation should take under 20 minutes. The entire unit is held in place with 6 Phillips-head screws. It couldn't be easier.
Hy-Dit can be installed anywhere in the bathroom, and it can be highlighted with a wooden door or painted to match the decor. The quality and affordability of this unit make it a must for every bathroom. Finally there's a clean and attractive solution to toilet plunger storage!
